This piece symbolises healing and the journey one goes through when they decide to actually start to heal themselves on an emotional level. So many of us when we go through some sort of trauma, drama, breakup etc don’t really deal with the emotion that comes with the experience. So instead of going through the process and working through expressing the emotion  of how that experience felt/affected you, it gets repressed, pushed down, bottled up and then affects your life in various ways.
